Serving in the United States Navy provided me the life-long transferrable skills of best engineering practices to apply in the field and project management competencies to successfully lead teams efficiently. Through arduous training and tedious operational exercises, it conditioned my approach to thoroughly apply procedural compliance actions to safely operate the power plant. Technical details of each piece of equipment were embedded knowledge and understanding the array of facets of every operational function was recognized.
Working alongside the most diverse group of men and women taught me the essential value of teamwork. Much like any business, through supply functions and value chains every portion plays a vital role in successful implementation. The ability to manage a team of such distinct caliber requires the trust and transparency of a team. Through technical knowledge and overcoming ambiguity, the military prepared me completely to succeed in building a cleaner future.
