How did serving in the military help prepare you for a job in the clean energy industry?

Serving in the military prepared me for the clean energy industry by teaching discipline, a strong work ethic, and leadership skills essential for working with diverse teams. My experience in high-stress situations built situational awareness, and the emphasis on safety and following procedures directly applies to ensuring a safe and efficient work environment in renewable energy projects. These skills drive my commitment to building a sustainable future with Equinor.  

What advice do you have for veterans exploring a job in the clean power industry?  

Veterans, your military experience is more transferable than you might realize. For veterans exploring a career in clean energy, lean into the discipline, work ethic, and teamwork skills you've developed—they’re highly valued in this field. Prioritize safety and attention to detail, both crucial in renewable energy projects. Stay open to learning from people with diverse backgrounds, as collaboration is essential in this industry. Finally, remember that your ability to handle complex, high-stakes situations is a powerful asset in overcoming the challenges of building a sustainable future.
